Who is Doc, also known as Michael J. Belcher? He did not come to computers and the internet in the usual manner; i.e., he did not study computers, programming, or internet. He grew up, attened school, and graduated from university prior to the era of personal computers. Doc is not stupid, and he knows how to study, learn and apply information. His formal education includes the following: 1969 - B.A., Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA. Majors inclued: Psychology, Sociology. 1971 - M.A., Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA. Majors included: Psychology, Sociology. 1973 - Ph.D., Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, Illinois. Major: Clinical/Counseling Psychology. 1982 - M.B.A., University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. Majors: Management & Accounting. As you can see, none of the above eduation and degrees prepared him for working with computers or the internet. However, they did teach him how to effectively learn. His son, Andrew, assists in the operation of the family websites, and he has had absolutely no computer training, other than playing computer games. He now processes orders on the computer. |
